AMIC (Automotive Multimedia Interface Consortium)
is the name of a consortium of 5 car manufacturers: General Motors, Ford, DaimlerChrysler, Toyota, Renault dedicated to the definition and standardization of exchange and use of multimedia information aboard automotive vehicles.Other car manufacturers are in the process of joining the consortium.
The aim is to bring multimedia auto electronics into unprecedented global compatibility.

TOOLSYS (Open Toolset for Mixed Simulation of Multidomain Systems)
is a Brite-Euram project (BE 3249) started in February 97 with a duration of 36 months. The objective is the development of a multidisciplinary environment for modeling and simulation of multi-domain systems. It is based on the use of the VHDL-AMS language to exchange models between different simulation tools. The consortium includes car manufacturers and automotive suppliers, research centers, software companies.
